The web doesn't allow it. What's wrong with require()?

You keep popping into discussions I'm having, and then saying "we've discussed this before". If you don't want to discuss it, just... don't.

If there are new things to discuss sure, but having this for over 2 years makes things a little worn down for me.

It wears us down too because node seems to be completely tone-deaf about this.

This is the part that drives people nuts. Thought leaders are saying this is bad, repeatedly, and node ignores.

What prominent dev *is* in favor of .mjs? It's a terrible decision based on edge case driven design.

I just do not see anything that resembles community consent on this. I see this leading to another fork honestly.

I see a lot of people with different ideas, picked the one I saw as best compromise based upon years of talking. Wasn't rushed.

It certainly wasn't rushed but it's still not the best solution. Let's give it one more shot?

Always up for additions to the feature set / use cases. I think we can move on https://github.com/nodejs/node-eps/pull/60 … or hooks now.

If we can get the module key to opt in and avoid mjs when in use I think we're done here.

Not really, my biggest beef is the ability to import non-modules in the first place. Now tools have to decide whether to follow node or web
