I don't know if it's up to date with the concepts in modern React architecture using Redux and GraphQL.

I prefer MobX with RxJS, and Jest with snapshot tests

Most people, especially beginners, will want to use the defacto standard solutions in the React community: Redux and GraphQL.

I think Apollo is getting there too. It might be worth including in a beginner curriculum.

I still don't use redux, mobx, etc. on top of React 🤷🏼‍♂️

Interesting! I've heard from a lot of production users that redux is now a no-brainer choice for new React users. Thoughts?

I wish it was more of a brainer choice. It's cargo-culted, but there's a palpable shift back to plain old setState for most interactions.

Learning react along with redux causes a lot of people to completely miss the boat on what React is capable of, also lots of frustration.

People say you should start using Redux when you need it. What would you say are the signs you should consider redux.

That people are so eager to reach for Redux is a failure on the part of React, IMO. Things we can improve: state API, context, subscriptions

Putting everything in a global store should be an escape hatch, not main way you do state. Unfortunately not the case for many apps today.

Yeah, just did a set of components with context, felt hacky but gave a great API. want to explore invisible stores for a single feature
