1/opposition to firing is based on liberal not conservative principles 2/bet this person believes Catholic hospitals must give birth controlhttps://twitter.com/wycats/status/895651990461497346 …
My position is that private firms can be disallowed from discriminating against inherent traits (defined liberally)

-
Here's the catch-what are "inherent" traits. By your definition ideology isn't, which means one can refuse to hire devout religious people
-
The '50s Hollywood blacklist of "commies" is also AOK by your definition. Apparently you agree w/conservatives contraception can't be req'd
-
Moreover if one believes gender's not inherent, but a social construct—one can refuse to hire people of any "construct" not appealing to you
-
Most importantly, if you aren't in an elite profession employment is difficult to find & retain, so anti-discrimination should be broad
-
Gaining right to retain a job w/o being fired by some arbitrary boss decision was a hard fought battle. Only privileged people shit on that.

But I would have no objection to, for example, the American Enterprise Institute only hiring conservatives.
-
I also had no moral qualms with AEI firing Frum for not being sufficiently aligned with their political worldview. http://www.thedailybeast.com/inside-david-frums-bitter-exit …
-
I think firms are allowed to attempt to cultivate a culture around political beliefs, and it would be pretty weird if that weren't true.

AIPAC is allowed to fire people who have a problem with Israel. CAIR is allowed to fire people who have a problem with Muslims.
