The manifesto more or less said that Google is "watering one side of the lawn" for no reason bc women aren't interested anyway.

Yes. He said women aren't interested. He never said women are less capable, and most of the reaction has assumed he did.

Either he's right and tech is overly "machine"y or he's wrong and women are discriminated against. Both options justify what he opposed.
