"Damore’s supporters argue that the media distorted his arguments & that he had the right to express them" And Google had the right to fire

As they would say, being a conservative is not a protected class. If you believe a baker can reject gay cakes, why can't Google reject this?
-
For the record, liberals are pretty consistent here. Hotels are allowed to play Fox News and I can refuse to patronize them.
-
Nobody's rights are being infringed there. Similarly, there are some places I wouldn't work because I wouldn't feel comfy as progressive.
-
That's fine. Ideological orientation is just not the same thing as inherent traits.
-
I would be deeply uncomfortable if companies started firing people who were e.g. pro-gay-marriage, though.
-
You think that doesn't already happen? You think Hobby Lobby hires a lot of progressives?
-
So many of the lawsuits you see around this are conservatives arguing for the right to fire whoever they want.
-
Lately even in companies receiving federal funding.

I legit think it is less about complying with their version of morality and more to do with not complying to leftist versions of morality

I understand it as the Right is about restriction, towards authoritarianism. Left is about anti-oppression, towards anarchy.
-
(anarchy as in the decentralized form of govt, not the smashing windows kind)

I think the bulk of ppl think he shouldn’t have been fired but are ok with it being GOOGs choice.
-
Hum!Would not fire him! Would assign him work with female engineers only for1-2 years. And he would be the only guy in the all female team.
