Not really, it let's us transfer wealth without banks as an intermediary, we can create rolling on top of that core feature.

step 4 is usually "profit", but cryptocurrency works just the same.

That's my thinking as well. It may not be simpler, but it seems to reduce the fiction of banks (at least for my use cases)

But introduces a new fiction based on cryptography and a new kind of fiat currency.
