I think these where N+1's too, but harder/impossible to eager-load due to the way things are structured (using ancestry gem)

Eager loading would lead to unnecessarily high memory usage too (number of allocations) when all I need are association counts.

Ah, so it was already reported as N+1, but the "normal" solution wouldn't be appropriate. Maybe that means we should suggest 1/
