Data binding and borrowing are terms carefully chosen to have some sort of intuitive meaning in English. One of these is not like the other.

I sometimes think it's more confusing to use general terms. You think a newcomer will know what "factory" will mean in the context of code?
-
I already have a preconcived idea of what that means in a whole other context
-
Naming is hard, but I kind of see the shaming more often from certain camps
-
Shaming? I don't think it's controversial that Monad, Applicative Functor etc are particularly inscrutable terms.
-
Probably too strong of a word I used

-
if we're going to talk about words that have been bad for a long time, and need to get shot out of a cannon, lets nuke "then" as well?
-
then seems a little different than Applicative Functor.
-
I sorry, I wasn't implying as such. I was referring to the lack of understanding for proper usage / understanding.

All those are great except that Callable and Applyable both sound like they're talking about bare functions. MapCallable? ApplyMappable? idk
