Off the list. What's great is contributors that we offer money who decline, instead have that converted to influence to use in the vote pg

Every day, anyone who has a GitHub user gets 1 influence per day, and those who are sponsors and sponsors and backers get golden influence

Any contributor as long as the hours spent meets the criteria will get an email. There are special cases where I myself have to report my hr

This prevents the whole resentment to contribute and exclusions that sometimes happens (see a certain Ruby project I'll leave anon)

So contributors log hours? And that gives them voting rights? Or money contributors?

Everyone with a GitHub has voting rights. Sponsors and Backers have golden influence 100x infulence.

And no we use a Algo to record contributors hours, we send an email offering them to expense their "pts" or convert it to voting influence

Does this discriminate (in influence) against people who *need* to take the money (low income etc)?

Imagine a low-income person who wants to contribute to webpack and has to choose between $ and influence, while more well-off 1/

ppl wouldn't need the money and therefore get the influence. Seems potentially problematic. 2/2

That's a fair point I suppose, we just want to offer those who opt out (for whatever reason) to have a alternative way to impact.

In hindsight, our budget is not large enough to pay a fair wage at 40 hrs or work per month which is what the cap is atm

Whether or not that validates or invalidates your concern, I'm not sure. But i think it helps dilute that reality of exclusivity

Maybe the solution is to ban poor people from contributing and just let the rich people make the decisions and contribute? GREAT!
