Interesting blog post on the new Mozilla logo -https://blog.mozilla.org/opendesign/roads-not-taken/ …
I haven't heard a single argument for why it's validly hated by marketing.http://sourcesofinsight.com/how-to-rebrand-a-brand/ …

the argument aiui is that we want to push Mozilla more (c.f. Firefox) and that dinosaurs have bad connotations (extinct, scary, etc)
-
personally, I disagree on both fronts, but this is way above my pay grade (I'm sure I lack perspective, etc)
-
did they do any research determining that the *existing logo* is introducing those connotations?
-
no idea I'm afraid

“I absolutely branded Mozilla that way for the [communist] subtext. I trolled them so hard” https://www.jwz.org/blog/2016/10/they-live-and-the-secret-history-of-the-mozilla-logo/ …

I doubt they were trolled ;)
-
I guess it depends who 'they' are ;)

Not a lot of space for context in 140 chars. This article talks about Mozilla’s creation in 1999 or so.
