it was the bg checks, which aren’t even active yet. Uber/Lyft threatened to leave, lobbied hard, lost and threw a fit.
fighting any and all regulation isn't their MO. I followed the Portland saga and they agreed on regulation at the end.

I think Portland agreed to the kind of background check Uber does. But not "no regulation"

I think they tend to fight regulations that exist intentionally as "anti-uber" laws. Which seems fair.
