Yep. Understanding is important (too often not the case on the left -- "Jewish is not a race" a common refrain)

I think of it as a religion, & the people who tell me it *is* a race on Twitter seem to be anti-Semites who want to otherize Jews.

It's a religious minority, absolutely, but also w/ a long cultural background that allowed Hitler to target non-religious Jews
