I like the way lisps thinks about programming, but I don't like lisps very much. Can that thought process be made applicable to other langs?
I think ruby absorbed quite a bit of this perspective (Matz explicitly derived ruby from lisp + smalltalk + Perl)

honestly, my biggest fear about programming is that ruby will slowly wane and nothing will carry the torch forward.
