Debian or Ubuntu pplz: What would it take to get Ruby as a scripting language shipped by default?
what's unreliable and inconsistent about the current one? Would like to help.

misunderstood your query - the Ruby packages in Debian are in a good shape (1/2)
-
To be shipped by default, Ruby would be need to be a required dependency of a wide range of "tasks" (2/2)
-
but py3 shipped by default despite not being needed for any tasks...
-
seems like a chicken-and-egg problem: homebrew is written in ruby in osx because osx ships with Ruby.
