how do I choose which commits go into which versions? do you still tag if you're maintaining branches for 1.x, 2.x etc?

does PR workflow work when maintaining >1 versions or better to do lots of cherry-picking? or work on versions independently?

try to target master w/ feature flags. Make an easy convention for commits that want to be cherry picked back.
