When senior devs don't shift their learned use of abstractions as context changes, they teach junior devs to be skeptical of abstractions.

Gadamer fleshed out the Hermeneutic Circle in his 1960 magnum opus Truth and Method. Might be related ;)

Gadamer was Heidegger's student (no need to cite Socrates if citing Plato).
