yes. in my discussion on lexical scope, i teach it (+ eval) as cheating scope, bad for perf/readability.

as much as i wish `with` was dead/irrelevant, it's increasingly used... knockout.js, vue.js, chrome console, etc.

Loads of new langs built on JS and WebAssmbly might facilitate full alternatives so we can have our cake & eat it

i'm happy for more choice of paths for devs to deploy to the web. doesn't mean i want to break JS to get it
