@wycats Digging into the Ember API, wondering: scale of 1-10, how excited are you about moving code like Object/Array, Mixins to "plain" JS?
-
-
that is great to hear! I think it will really help with adoption and the perception that Ember is big/bloated/etc.
-
yeah lots of little paper cuts around this.
@locks has been talking with me a lot about paring down. -
yeah, there is that 'uncanny valley' where the API is so close to the real thing, but not, so it is more disturbing somehow
-
again, I understand there's good reason. But, the more Ember is "just JS" the better. Fewer things to front load for newbies.
-
Stability Without Stagnation is our doubled edged sword!
-
True! Still, it's a pretty cool problem to have. :)
-
it was always the dream that much of ember-{metal,runtime} would just ship as part of the environment one day.
-
Gotcha, was just wondering how excited the core team is about that runtime -> environment transition. Big opportunity.
