windows full-timer for the last 5 or so months: - cmd.exe is a fossil, and PS isn't syntatically nice - i really, really miss bash.

bash-for-windows is literally a compatible Ubuntu w/o virtualization or dual-boot "used to smell worse" doesn't cut it

at this point, I'd say bash-for-windows (WSL) is closer to Linux than OSX is to Linux.

it's gotten to the point where most things work, and it's reasonable to target it as a tool dev.

the big thing for me was win<->linux inotify, which took a while to land but is solid now.
