love Windows' drag to top/sides for maximising or filling half the screen

BetterSnapTool is a great addition to OS X
-
I've used Divvy and like it a lot. What happened to "you don't have to look through a zillion shareware tools"?
-
true enough. Although BST is a straight up paid-for little app with a single purpose. Not so uncommon on Macs?
-
I didn't know about it until this thread (but I do use and like Divvy)

size up ( http://www.irradiatedsoftware.com/sizeup/ ), lets you create a shortcut for that on osX. Great little tool for window managment.
-
needing a third party tool is what I'm saying sucked.
-
why does it matter to you that it's 3rd party? (I don't program in textedit either...)
-
I don't only use one machine so every piece of software needed to get to "normal" risks being missed.

that exists in Mac: Alt + green button click
-
just tried with finder. Nada.
-
Weird. Fills the screen for me. Though I will admit on some monitors it will fill height but not width.
-
unfortunately, this is not "maximize", it is "make it whatever size Steve Jobs wants it to be"
-
"whatever size Steve Jobs thought it should be in 2011", I suppose.
-
yes obviously :p

shift + double click on menu bar will maximize windows in osx
-
Also, option click on the green traffic light.
-
or just use divvy (or some other window manager)
-
pretty good evidence that "with Apple it just works. You don't have to think about it." right?
-
I think they did a pretty decent job with full screen mode. Though, I'd use a window manager for any OS.
-
I've not needed one for Windows.
