I just hope they don't do like the 1.8 to 1.9 transition. Backporting features into stable should be a no-go (looking at 1.8.7)

the cost to whom? For the Ruby devs I don’t know but it violated my soft. engineering rules :) didn’t made my life easier as a user

moving 1.8.7 closer to 1.9.2 made it easier to write shims, which made the transition smoother.
