I think WCs for leaf nodes are fine in principle, but the technology is welded shut to outsiders.

Promises went fast. The proof is in the pudding. TC39 is emotionally intense but things get into all browsers faster.

"get into all browsers faster" is mostly a cost problem, not an wg-efficiency problem.

it's a WG efficiency issue if consensus is slower as it has been with WCs.
