TypeScript is pretty good. Bugs in TypeScript: gotta catch em all.

My impression is that TS favors ease of integration over strictness, aka their goal isn't to catch em all

my impression is Flow type system advantages are mythological ("some said it's good") & going away w/ every ts release

it's 30 days old. That's a lot in TS days, 2.0 just hit beta & addresses these concerns

I probably should have used word "sound". "Good" is a bit ambiguous

"Flow is more sound than TypeScript" is a value judgment (sounder is better) masquerading as an objective analysis

true, it's "better" in this particular aspect. I try to be as objective as possible

the reason it feels like a shell game is that TS made an explicit decision to not focus on soundness. So of course they lose.

But presumably there are gains that they would tell you about in exchange for the loss.

so the only way to properly analyze solutions is on both axes: soundness and the other side that TS decided to optimize for.

TypeScript is much more popular that Flow, and people use to think Flow is the same thing, but worse

I just try to show that Flow is superior in some aspects, and it's not going to be fixed in TS, because it is by design
