Hm I guess I escaped alive because while I use TypeScript, I don't use atom (vscode instead)

I probably should have used word "sound". "Good" is a bit ambiguous

the reason it feels like a shell game is that TS made an explicit decision to not focus on soundness. So of course they lose.

But presumably there are gains that they would tell you about in exchange for the loss.
