Just the file/line numbers, no stack frames/closures. I have the data if you just ask me for it during a breakpoint.

V8's Error.prepareStackTrace is a start but not enough for captured errors or breakpoints, debugger UI etc.

sounds very similar to source maps. Locations already go through a translation step there.

sometimes async and dynamic translation is easier than having to do the full translation up front.
