      @wycats @mjackson @tomdale Mostly the raw power of JavaScript. It's pretty straightforward to manipulate raw objects and pass around VDOM

      @wycats @mjackson @tomdale at the same time, that's a slippery slope. It makes it easy to blend concerns and write tangled code.

      @BenLesh I'd really love a concrete example of something like this so I can give some thought to where the friction would be in Ember.

      @wycats Oh, I don't think it's "friction in Ember". it's just different. simple stuff like: data.map((d, i) => (<li key={i}>{d}</li>));

      @wycats To be clear, I'm not saying that's "all good", there's some creeping evil in code like what I have above. But it is powerful.

      @wycats I mean writing reducers that can create vdom and passing that vdom around? It's undeniably powerful. It can also be dangerous.

      @wycats if a "component" is just a function that returns VDOM, then you can write higher-order functions that are "higher-order-components".

      @wycats it's cool stuff. It "feels" powerful to do stuff like that. Surely you can relate to getting giddy about a slick piece of FP?

      @wycats The danger is that you're mixing concerns and at times disorganizing your codebase. Ember/Angular templates do save you from that.

          @BenLesh the whole story is not much more complex than "pure function of state -> vdom" but it's more like partial evaluation in reality

          @wycats building a dynamic view is a good use case. Load a bunch of components based on a config obj that tells you what components to load.
