@wycats I'm not sure I understand. You mean rails is more thoughtful than node in taking on dependencies? -
@sarahmei I mean that the Ruby ecosystem has been more thoughtful about the *effects* of having a lot of dependencies. -
@sarahmei when working on Rails 3, I wanted more deps (merger rationale!). DHH said no way: rubygems isn't good enough. We built bundler. -
@sarahmei there are costs and benefits to deps, but you can bend the curve if you respect the tradeoff. -
@wycats I agree. We have the technical ability to get into such a mess, but perhaps we're less likely to do so, due to community attitudes. -
