So, the answer to the question "when will the io.js and node project merge back together?" is "an hour ago".
@seldo so there won't be any more io.js releases? The next release of io.js is just node.js?

@wycats there will be io.js releases until the code of both forks is converged, which will take some time. After a while, just node again. -
@seldo and will the pace of post-converge node releases be node 0.12 or io.js? -
@wycats I'm just a spectator, but from the people involved I think much closer to io's speed than node's. Big, important caveat: -
@wycats the io committee has an LTS working group who are planning how to support a stable but bug-fixed release for enterprisey types. -
@wycats that's the version of node that npm, Inc is most likely to be running going forward.
