I really wonder what RubyGems + Bundler would look like in a post libgit2 world. Rust's Cargo has no qualms with integrating.
@qrush We had qualms, but we sorted them out. libgit2 is missing some basics (like cloning recursively) that we had to implement.

@wycats it feels like RG/B is a dinosaur stuck in tar by comparison. But http://rg.org does crates' total downloads every 20 mins -
@qrush Bundler already fully isolates the git stuff, so an experiment to move it over would be only a little bit of work. -
@wycats but it's never going to be a fully fledged part of Ruby I feel. That's the strength. -

@qrush :D It was nice to be able to build on the solid experience of Rubygems/Bundler but rethink some of the core.
