@csaintamant@tildeio How many weeks of vacation do you typically take per year? -
-
@csaintamant@tildeio If that's really true it's very unusual for unlimited vacation policies. Do people on your team also take 4-6wks? -
-
@csaintamant@tildeio I only need to take 4ish days during the holidays to get 2 weeks off in practice. Want to make it std too.

@wycats Same thing with sick time, we have unlimited sick time and I felt lazy asking for 3 hours to see the doctor -
@GoodTimeHaver Our policy is basically that you can either use PTO (4wks) for sick or flex to evening or weekend.

@csaintamant@tildeio But surely you have a sense of how many weeks you are taking off? -

@terzicigor@rwjblue@wycats@tildeio stay in the US! Our companies hate giving out vacation! 4 weeks is double most places. -
@BenLesh@terzicigor@rwjblue@wycats Ugh. I had 1wk vacay at my first job + 2wks “sick” where you had to *prove* you were sick to take it.

@wycats@mikeginnyc@tildeio I've heard some companies switching to *minimum* vacation time, to avoid guilt issues that come w/ unlimited. -
@nycplayer@wycats@tildeio interesting - never tried minimum might give that a shot next time around

@wycats agreed! When I had unlimited vacation I never took more than 2 weeks. My employer switched to 3 weeks and now I don't feel badThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
