@wycats have you just been frog-boiled on how asinine it still is because of older browser support? http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2013/08/09/absolute-horizontal-vertical-centering-css/ … so many “ifs”

@trek depends on which browsers you need to support. More importantly, abstraction makes it a small % of total time. -
@wycats it’d be like a programming language didn’t have basic arithmetic but you could get the same effect with simple matrix manipulations -
@trek more like if a programming language didn't have basic arithmetic in v1 but got it in v3 and people are still complaining ;) -
@wycats and the language has no “if” statement. -
@trek this is why more people should use Sass ;)

@wycats How's it asinine? It's a legitimate design concern that is notoriously difficult without sacrifice... -
@walesmd It's asinine because it's abstractable, solved in newer browsers, and we have other problems yet to solve. -
@wycats Not everyone has the grace of supporting newer browsers. I completely agree, it's solved now. Unfortunately .gov is IE9 at best. -
@walesmd With older browsers in the mix, have to bring abstractions to bear to reduce pain. But even then, has gotten way better. -
@wycats I completely agree. But it still requires a compromise between good doc markup and random scattering of divs to support legacy.

@wycats Achievement Unlocked: Getting subtweeted by Yehuda. -
@brianloveswords ha! I try to make it my business not to subtweet people, but sometimes slip up. Sorry :(
