The JSON API doesn't have to be specific to JSON, yet it's name is specific to JSON. Oddly required, but also not. /cc @wycats
@krainboltgreene JSON has inherent deserialization to keys. XML requires more mappings which I'm not interested in.

@wycats Point being that anything which stores as basic types (Text, Number, List, Dictionary) can do this protocol. -
