@wycats “not simpler” is often just a problem restatement away from being an order of magnitude simpler. See Turbolinks  :)

@dhh totally agree that pushing back on unnecessary requirements can bring huge gains. PHP is "simpler" than Rails but too simple for apps. -
@wycats not to be bit picky but I think when we rubyists use less precision when talking about PHP we sound like uninformed trolls. :-) -
@eccegordo Wasn't comparing Rails to the universe of PHP. Just picking something too simple for apps (raw PHP) as an example of "no simpler" -
@wycats Understood. And the same thing could be said of just Ruby or JavaScript. I agree if your point is we need conventions and framework. -
@eccegordo yeah. I had a follow-up tweet that said I could have said "Sinatra" or "Backbone" too.

@wycats "Make things simpler than possible". That just sounds ridiculous. :) -
@stolt45 People convince themselves to do things that are "simpler than possible" by forgetting part of the problem until it's too late. - 1 more reply

@wycats agree with the caveat that you need to re-evaluate where the line is drawn as an ecosystem evolves.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
