The biggest issue is that PE #dogma causes people to miss opportunities to build amazing experiences where 100% JS is appropriate.

@wycats don’t you think the reverse is true too? People building SPA which would be better off as just standard websites?

@lgarvey Yep. Absolutely. http://emberjs.com  is a static website.

@wycats is there still a use case for pages without JS? I mean, even screen readers run it..

@pbakaus @wycats Depending on what you're building, yes. Keep in mind that slow/flaky connections can result in a no-JS situation.

@scott_gonzalez @pbakaus @wycats or some third-party widget breaks your JS on the page. Or you just screw up a deployment.

@bassistance @scott_gonzalez @pbakaus @wycats Yes, 3rd-party widgets make me (particularly) queasy on client-side apps. Wonder if warranted?

@wycats I thought PE was just making it useable when the tech isn't there. It doesn't have to have feature parity. PE shouldn't be limiting.

@wycats I can always add more interaction to a PE site. 100% JS doesn't really offer me the opposite option. Practicalities are not dogma

@wycats any actual examples of this, or is just how you imagine a js-hatin' progressive enhancing "preacher" to act?

@wycats for every 1 site where 100% JS is appropriate, there's 100 broken sites that should have just used PE

@wycats I think having content on page before JS kicks in makes sense, but don't hold your app back. Limit non-js funcitonality.
