GitHub hit the 150 employee mark this morning. About ⅔ are remote. Never had anyone quit. Worrying about how your company works pays off.
@luckiestmonkey @holman if people have been let go (curious how many) “nobody quit” isn’t that impressive. Deck chairs, titanic.

@wycats@luckiestmonkey Also, the Titanic reference is baffling. -
@holman it was a poor analogy.@luckiestmonkey -
@wycats@holman@luckiestmonkey the honesty in this conversation just increased my respect for all of you

@wycats@luckiestmonkey@holman I actually think that’s super impressive. How many companies can say they’ve had no employees quit? -
@janaboruta it's hard to know the exact situation once you factor in firing.@luckiestmonkey@holman -
@wycats No it's really not that hard unless you're trying to jump to conclusions. -
@wycats Ironically. I may have jumped to a conclusion there. ;) -
@jm I don’t see “quitting” and “being fired” as inherently, so I’m not sure that “nobody quit but we fired 10 people” is that meaningful -
@wycats It's vastly different. Everyone make hiring mistakes unfortunately. :( Nobody's willingly left, let's put it what way heh

@wycats we've lost 10 through firing. This would be a good conversation in person sometime, lots to be said. -
@luckiestmonkey let’s do it! -
@wycats I will check with the mrs.

@wycats Of course it is. You make mistakes and you fix them. Retention is about keeping ppl happy, not making perfect hiring decisions.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@wycats@luckiestmonkey@holman 150 people, ~ 6 fired, and nobody ever quit. That’s not impressive to you? I suggest you ask around.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
