Sometimes I see this notion of "junior devs damaging your code base" - WTF IS THIS? Are you not providing enough guidance? Are there no reviews? No pairing? Whatever it is, don't blame it on juniors. Maybe blame it on your inability to integrate them.

Not even touching on the many positive impacts juniors can have on your code base. Like you noticing that you can't explain that part of the code base because it makes no sense, cause they ask questions. Or you know, just generally good work.

Know what "damages your code base"? Pressure Lack of communication No culture of quality Lack of reviews Lack of designing features together Cowboys Overworked people That CTO who pushes to master Sunday night Just adding features on top of another

I find that the work it takes to help less experienced developers contribute productively drastically improves quality because it forces the whole team to be much clearer about what the original code and architecture was doing.

I very reliably learn stuff (and find improvements) in the course to breaking something down so it can be understandable by the whole team.
