Since I've gotten a bunch of "yes"es, I wonder if we should have a Discord server or something ;)

I did it! https://discord.gg/W7u35m A Discord server for people who do regular work on multiple different platforms ("poly-platformers")

i would love to do that, but can not manage to have multiple machines.pic.twitter.com/hTNpVdBGWp
-
A Chromebook and cheap Windows machine is still cheaper by far than a single Mac laptop ;)
-
i have only one machine that too is given by my employer

-
Which one?
-
Jokes apart sir, I never got a chance to say but today i am saying. I am huge fan your ideology, thought process by which you have designed ember. I have worked on react, vue etc. they are great. But ember is something i love and consider as a breakthrough in client side dev.
-
Aw. That's very nice of you to say. Thank you

I'm often switching between Windows and Mac for JS and Rust projects, works for me thanks to the great cross-platform story for both of these languages. Not so good experience with C(++) and such for obvious reasons :)
-
Actually, got to say C(++) works too, but usually only for CMake-based projects - could work on fairly large projects Chromium, LLVM, WebKit etc. almost without issues. Everything else usually requires WSL which works well but doesn't feel as an ideal solution.
-
Did you get cmake working with msvc on Windows?! If so, please tell me your setup!
-
Well I just passed MSVC as a generator and it worked... But from some point started using Ninja (which has native Windows binary too) as a target generator instead to speed up builds.
-
Which version of cmake did you download and from where?
-
Oh, and which version of MSVC and from where?

People do this a lot in
#HPC. I don’t work on all of these every day, but many of our apps have to run on several of: MacBooks, RHEL6/RHEL7 on Sandy Bridge and Broadwell, Blue Gene/Q, RHEL7 on ARM, Haswell/KNL Cray machines, and the new Power9/Volta machine at work.Thanks. I work on Racket, Lua, and Python on IllumOS, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and MacOS. I do Elixir, Go, Dart and Crystal on MacOS and Linux (and by Linux I mean an LX Zone on SmartOS). All from my W541 running FreeBSD with various VMs and one MBPro

Breaking into the industry, I have a 400.00 Toshiba Win 10 machine I got on clearance, and I might be able to scrounge up an old TI-84, and cobble together an abacus. Does that count?

Yeah, I have Windows and Linux desktops and a MBP all in my home office. (I use Synergy to share a single keyboard/mouse between them.)
