    We just submitted a pre-print 'A novel variant of interest (VOI) of SARS-CoV-2 with multiple spike mutations detected through travel surveillance in Africa.' This VOI has 31 amino acids mutations. In Spike has 11 mutations and three deletions in the N-terminal domain

    Lots of countries in East Asia and Oceania successfully suppressed or basically eliminated Covid last year. But glacial vaccination programs might put them in the maddening situation where the US, UK and even EU are able to normalise many months earlier than the success stories.
