As we see cherry blossoms bloom throughout the month, here's a fun fact! 🌸 Did you know when construction on SR 520 began in the 1960s the trees were transported from the Washington Park Arboretum to UW's campus? Check out this photo from 1949 to see the removal in action!📷

Morning. April is Work Zone Awareness Month at our agency and an opportunity to remind the public of the need to keep our crews safe. 60 of our workers statewide have been killed on the job since 1950. We are honoring them at our Worker Memorial at Eastern Region HQ.

One of our most important pieces of safety equipment: a Truck Mounted Attenuator truck (TMA). We call it the Road Warrior. It’s vital in protecting crews in work zones. We have one on display outside our Worker Memorial event.
