#CrossFit is an incredible example of Conquest's Second Law in action. In the early days, CrossFit was mostly right-libertarian leaning men, Veterans, firefighters, businessmen, etc. http://www.isegoria.net/2008/07/robert-conquests-three-laws-of-politics/ …

#CrossfitInfiltrate and@BergerRussell tried to hold the line at the the promotion of Sodomy within#crossfit. http://www.towleroad.com/2018/06/indianapolis-crossfit/ … They misread the situation. They merely THOUGHT that#crossfit was right-wingShow this thread -
Now the LGBTQIXYZ-bioleninist alliance have destroyed
#crossfitinfiltrate and rendered@BergerRussell an unperson. Now@CrossFitCEO and@CrossFit are falling over themselves to denounce the "homophobes." Now#crossfit has entered the final terminal phase of social justice cancerShow this thread -
Strong men will cede yet another "owned space" (HT:
@bronzeagemantis) to the leftists, perverts, and harridans...crossfit will become a shell of its former self, and the bioleninist alliance will have to find a new male space to destroy.#crossfit R.I.P.Show this thread -
Where should the strong men go? Should they get
#PlanetFitness memberships? Set off the lunk alarm until they get kicked out? NO! Should they join another "Boutique Gym" that will itself be colonized by the left? NO! Think outside the "Box." Think inside the garage...pic.twitter.com/FLBc2YosHK

Unlike "public accommodations," in America, for now, a man's garage is still his. If he wants to, he can say ban leftists, perverts, and harridans. The solution is simple. 10 men, take what they were spending at their
#crossfit per month, pool it, and buy a basic barbell setuppic.twitter.com/liihaJiqQU

For a few grand, you and your inchoate männerbund, can meet, lift and get strong. When you aren't lifting together, the garage can serve as a salon to discuss Old Books (including #1 best-selling ancient Greek book Bronze Age Mindset). Forget about Crossfit, be Cimmerian insteadpic.twitter.com/AW1ufgG6CE

CrossFit always seemed like hipster shit
-
When did you first try it?
-
i didn't i'm just going by profiles of friends who did
-
In 2006, Crossfit was cutting edge imho
-
I've always found that doing some pushups, crunches, and body weight squats in the morning, then lifting some weights after work was plenty good enough. Why this drive for "trendy" workouts?
-
Crossfit offered an intense, structured approach. It ranked you against peers. It pushed folks who weren't already athletic into the athlete's mindset. Not perfect but a great step up from "fuckarounditis"
-
Interesting perspective, I suppose.

I'm in the bay area and there's no identity politics or soft bullshit in my class. There are a lot of women that come in, sure, but they're deadlifting 120kg, doing 40kg power snatches, muscle ups, handstand push-ups. But I can't speak for other gyms.

Much ink has been spilled on the boxes that have devolved into fat camps for soon-to-be-married women. Lots of metcon, low skill moves, no technically demanding lifts. Many such cases!

Many roads to Rome but
@GregNuckols 's The Journey is my go-to recommendation. By avoiding repeated technical failure, long-term, you make moar gainz with fewer injury-related breaks. That said, if folks are happy with 5/3/1, 5x5, SS good for them. Keep lifting, keep poasting. -

5/3/1 is finally what allowed me to pack on serious muscle. As Wendler has said, its for those serious and intentionally stupid.
