Le Corbu was a creative gentleman who did not consider practicality or social impact. Historically you can say he was a good draftsman, but a sub-middling architect.

I'm French and many French people are proud of Le Corbusier because he's famous. But I mostly find his craft horrible and right, socially, it was and still is terrible.

Uber's automatic carpooling feature is an interesting thing to think about in this context. In the future we might not own cars, but we might all use self-driving automated carpooling to get around.

Some good insights via Peter Calthorpe on the core issue with Uber: "We're going to get a lot more vehicle miles" When people are sending their car out to pick up McDonalds because of the convenience factor, the imapact would exceed car pooling benefits.

HongKong amazed me in that way, with good metros connecting large estates like these, and estates being build on top of shopping malls. Cars are a luxury, not a necessity there.
