Oh my god. A calculator for distribution arithmetic. I've been dreaming about this forever. https://medium.com/guesstimate-blog/introducing-guesstimate-a-spreadsheet-for-things-that-aren-t-certain-2fa54aa9340 …pic.twitter.com/klMtVGQZek

@worrydream arithmetic with distributions is the solution to floating point accuracy problems. Either analitically or via monte carlo.
@JuanVuletich Arithmetic wth continued fractions is the solution to floating point problems! http://perl.plover.com/yak/cftalk/INFO/gosper.txt … (I'm only half kidding)
@worrydream (actually, I don't even think you can have "three dollars", if a dollar is defined by what you can buy with it at a later time)
@worrydream Oh, too cool. I'll be playing with that one tomorrow for sure :)
@covrter Nope, it was part of an uncompleted project which I never published.
@worrydream so um put distributions within distributions within distributions within ... surely needs to bottom out!
@worrydream calculators for different arithmetics are generally a beautiful thing
@worrydream The problem with that guesstimate calculator is correlations lead to arbitrarily huge variation under/overestimation.
@worrydream probabilistic programming is the way, but better language design than current generation of DSLs (church, stan, bugs) needed
