    Clarke was always honest about being anti-Brexit and anti-referendum. Merits a place in the Lords after very long front-rank service. Hammond behaved atrociously, treating Leave voters with total contempt. Outrageous to ennoble him.

    Ken Clarke voted against Article 50. Philip Hammond tried to keep the UK in the EU Customs Union. He also sabotaged No Deal planning. And now these Brexit wreckers are to be given peerages so they can lord it over us for life. This is ridiculous.
