Makes me wonder if it’s possible to have a codebase / arch so well-documented that it’s maintainable even if everybody left the company

Some parts of Twitter may not be working as expected right now. We made an internal change that had some unintended consequences. We’re working on this now and will share an update when it’s fixed.

I do agree that t.co should be nerfed and Twitter should stop shimming every outbound links with that domain

Rishi Sunak, who held a green card requiring him to declare himself a permanent US resident, and who also benefited from his wife's non-dom tax status, while being listed as a beneficiary of her Cayman Island trust, says his patriotism to the UK is "non-negotiable".

Good. It’s hard to believe the elites who hold multiple citizenships are truly patriotic and act in the interest of China and the people

Got my DNA test results…
Apparently I am only 54% Han Chinese and 27% Japanese & Korean, which brings more questions than I originally wondered because my grandad is originally from The Philippines…

First day going out w/o masks in HK and Macau (as mask mandate has been lifted):
- only some ppl went maskless as they’re still getting used to it
- got some looks in both cities as the result
- eat street food w/o worries
- breathe easily as I speed walk

Mask off! I can finally eat street food without fear 🥹

Happy that we’re the last place on Earth to lift the outdoor mask mandate, I guess. Wow, congratulations 🤷🏻♀️

My takeaway from this new round of Twitter layoff:
If you’re against the toxic work environment, the VC people and founders will see you as pessimistic and lazy, because to them, greatness comes from sacrificing all aspects of your life and health for work

Why does CNN redirect non-North American traffic to edition.cnn[.]com, even though the webpages look identical? What’s the difference? Thanks

It appears that Twitter has unlaunched “Top Articles”
Quote Tweet
~@TwitterBlue’s “Top Articles” is great. It lets me read the articles my network cares about without the noise. I thought it’s gonna be all US local news, but it also shows the news from other regions that I care about, which is awesome :)

“He’s just a kid” as an excuse pisses me off sometimes
When I was sexually assaulted in high school, I was told “he’s just a teen” and “boys will be boys” to persuade me to drop the charges
Why are people so forgiving and apologetic? Genuinely curious. Change my mind

Politics aside, there isn’t really a point for local talents to stay in Hong Kong as cheap labour when they can “expatriate” to other parts of the world where the salary is more competitive
Quote Tweet
Hong Kong has seen an exodus of educated young talent following the enactment of its National Security Law, resulting in a shortage of talent in its vital tech industry. @charlesmok buff.ly/3ZeXrMt

I haven’t visited Macau for 13 years! The bridge from HK, maps app and mobile payment certainly made things easier
Visiting the city as an adult (for my first time) by myself feels so different compared to visiting as a teen with my family. I still avoided casinos though

Navigating in Macau using Chinese is easier than using English 😅
The subtle differences of the way place and street names are formatted in Chinese are also interesting to me
Fancy street signs too
