I've got a hunch that this guy is not exactly a professional lava handler, otherwise he would have had better shoes for the job; like heavy duty firefighter boots or better.
I’m a total layman but I doubt the best/strongest firefighter boot can protect him from lava. Just guessing, I don’t know.
