3/ If you are an inventor, engineer, scientists, investor who truly wants to bring new + risky technology to markets with honesty & integrity—and see how bad actors (like Theranos) can ruin it for good actors—you can’t watch or read the two above threads—and not be appalled.

If you can’t see the bigger picture I feel sorry for you.

All of the points in the video sound normal for slow rolling a product launch to test durability. This isn't journalism. It's an attempt at a hit job.
-
They. took. people’s. money.
-
The article doesn't say that at all. Nor does the video. Source?

Most believers gripping to belief in the presence of disconfirming facts find it very difficult to be able to change their minds. 11,000 customers put down deposit immediately after the launch.https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2018-11-20/inside-elon-musk-s-forgotten-gigafactory-2-in-buffalo …

I placed a $1k deposit the day after they did that demo, impressed by the slate model. I have never received even an email update since. You actually get more updates from Kickstarter projects...
-
Take that back. Or no Mars for you!

fraud? tell us who else has attempted such a breakthrough innovation or ever come close?
-
he said that they already had tech in place, were in a position to start production/deliveries, and the economics of this worked (all of this was a lie). This pitch was used to make TSLA purchase SCTY - i.e. he defrauded TSLA’s shareholders. More herehttps://mansionengineer.com/2018/08/10/elon-musk-tesla-and-the-solar-roof-tile-fraud/ …

Because everything you’ve ever undertaken was executed and succeeded perfectly? So easy to be a critic.
-
The point is purposely misleading investors. He knows he can get away with it hence he did it. Solar tiles is a dead duck because whatever you can put on it, it's cheaper and more flexible as a normal PV panel.
-
It's cheaper NOW. But you know, in order to advance a technology, it has to be invented and used first. This is common sense, the first solar panel was probably expensive as shit, and didnt work that great. Now? Solar is key. Just wait, this tech will catch up!
-
You missed the point. If you can make a solar tile with say 20% conversion efficiency, that same tech can be applied to a normal PV panel. But tiles always lose out due to number of connectors and labour cost involved to fit unless it's new built.
-
Then, when you factor in that technology is advancing fast, do you really want to be stuck with tiles in 15years time when panels can be easily changed?

Too bad, because it is a good idea
-
Yeah, too bad that it was a fraud...
-
Allegedly!
-
So where is it then if it is "allegedly"?
-
I've no clue. Ask, investigate, indict, convict -- then we'll all know.
-
Well the lawsuits are in and ongoing on that one
-
Good. I am sure they too (only) allege a wrongdoing.
