    I just checked. While the U.S. and South Korea had their first Covid-19 cases and deaths in February, more than 225,000 Americans have died from the virus since then. South Korea, a country of 55 million, has had fewer than 500 deaths. They controlled the virus. The U.S. didn't.

        To be fair, they are a much more considerate culture. We have people protesting wearing masks because they are unconstitutional. Our selfishness is definitely adding to our demise.

        I'm not sure it's that kind of cultural difference that's made Korea keep the infection rates down. From what I've read and based on talking with folks there, it's been (1) early govt action to get testing kits in place, (2) citizen trust in the govt,
