Now Prof Rovelli has mentioned Horace on perhaps time to recall that name “Ultima Thule” comes from Virgil Georgics as name of most distant land emp Augustus might rule (often identified as island beyond Britannia)

What concerns me is the disparity in the government set retirement ages. Why is a police officers 55, yet a prison officers 68? I didn’t fancy having to restrain a 21 year old when I’m that age... or working a landing relying on someone that age to get to me quickly!

when should we retire? whats the difference between an 80 year old pilot and 80 year old academic.. well kind of obvious!

The article in Times today quoting academics at Oxbridge lambasting the unis for forcing us to retire at 67 fails to mention that at Cambridge at least we voted for this — there were views on either side, & debate, but 67 won the day. Though cd be time for a 2nd referendum!
