Its the purity language that is conservative - not the anger or defense. A less conservative position would be to highlight the callousness and uncaring nature of your opponent vs your own.

Go back and check the original paper on 'foundations'. At best the foundations are slight preferences, and they don't even all replicate.

The one that always stikes me is the recurrent theme of being "ashamed to be British", "feeling shamed by my country" etc etc. I thought shame was more of a thing for honour cultures.
