    Must have read from about role "senior engineer". From my viewpoint, I couldn't agree more to Yan's viewpoints. The times were architects ruled others with policies and guidelines are gone. We need to bring value, inspire, convince. Not rule.

    Amazon API gateway and AWS IAM now allows more fine graned/context based permission handling by leveraging tags appied to the resources involved in the api request. Maybe your API can be simplified by moving pemission logic to this approach .

    Seems that switches from capacity/provision based to a pay per use pricing model. Means AWS config somewhat enters the paradigm. Customers do not pay for each defined rule in AWS config, but for each evaluation of a rule.
